Age Policy
Brantford Casino is for adults of 19 and up, nobody younger. This page shows how we confirm age, what we do when a minor slips past sign-up, and how families can help keep children and teens off gambling sites.
A. 19+ only
Opening an account, depositing and playing at Brantford Casino are restricted to players aged 19 and up.
This rule covers every game, every offer and every page of our site, including free spins and demo play. Players can join us only from places that permit gambling, and we follow Canadian rules on age, ID checks and anti-money laundering.
Our marketing is also directed at adults only. Promotions are never built to attract young people, and we avoid characters, themes or channels targeted at them.
B. How we check age
We confirm the age of every player before any deposit goes through.
To sign up, you'll share your birth date plus some other personal details, which we verify electronically using trusted data sources. If we can't confirm you're 19 or older that way, we'll need a government photo ID before your account can play for real money.
Our checks include:
- matching your name, birth date and address with independent records;
- confirming your location before play;
- making sure the payment method belongs to the account holder;
- further checks at any time if something does not add up.
You can read more about these steps in our KYC & AML Policy.
C. Shared devices and protecting minors
A few simple routines make it harder for minors to get into your account.
Plenty of families use the same laptop, tablet or phone. If that sounds like your home, please:
- sign out whenever a session ends;
- never let your browser or device save your password;
- lock your device using a PIN, fingerprint or facial recognition;
- keep payment cards and the login details for e-wallets somewhere out of children's reach;
- never let a child watch you play or press buttons for you.
Your account is for you alone. Allowing anyone else to use it, especially someone under 19, breaks our Terms of Service.
D. If a minor is found
We act straight away to stop play and protect the young person.
If we discover, or strongly suspect, that someone younger than 19 is using an account, we will:
- lock the account at once, so no more deposits or bets can be made;
- request proof of age from the account holder;
- close the account if no proof of age is provided, or if it proves they are under 19;
- cancel any winnings and bonus funds;
- return deposits, where permitted by law, to the original payment method.
If a grown-up gives a minor access to their account, they can lose that account too. Cases of fraud can be reported to the relevant authorities. Think a young person might be playing on a Brantford Casino account? Write to us by email and our team will check it quickly.
E. Parental controls and filtering tools
Free tools on most devices can block gambling sites at home.
Parents and carers can add an extra layer of protection with:
- Built-in parental controls: nearly every phone, tablet, computer and games console includes settings that restrict apps, websites and purchases.
- Filtering software: blocking programs can keep gambling websites from opening on every device in your home.
- Router settings: many home internet routers can filter whole categories of sites for everyone on the network.
- Separate user profiles: give children their own profile with restricted access, and keep your own profile password protected.
- App store limits: require a password before any download or in-app purchase.
An honest conversation about gambling with children and teenagers is also useful. Make clear that games of chance are intended for adults, that the odds are tilted toward the house, and that they are always welcome to bring their questions to you.
